as one who spends about 80% of days in front of a shiny screen, 98% of the remaining time staring at a smartphone & 1/2 of that combined times wearing glasses (a result of the aforementioned behavior), i have become a bit of a Streak Freak...i lose my cool when my monitor or, god forbid, my glasses have smudges.
enter: the MUJI "cleaning cloth" to save me from myself
admittedly, i am a lover of MUJI & their blissful stores: from subtle scents of diffused white tea oil to perfectly symmetrical display of stationary products in signature white/clear/natural, travel accessories made for needs i have yet to consider, and perfectly packaged bath products that promise a simpler life; i rarely escape without a pile of goodies (most bearing labels with too few characters to describe the product's use even if it was in english)
how i first encountered the MUJI "cleaning cloth" is irrelevant; the results, however, are far from: nothing better cleans lenses, monitors, iphone/ipad/iproducts & even camera lenses. want more? each tiny package comes with around 15 cloths (if you read japanese, please tell me what the real number is), and one little cloth can clean all aforementioned products & live on for weeks, months.... (i risk looking like my nana by tucking one of these into every eye/sunglass case) - they're that great!

a package can last a year, but at $1.25 each, buy a few to share the love [most friends & family of mine have been gifted these at some point - no complaints yet!]
so, your fancy sunglasses came with a chamois that looks nicer & is supposed to work great, right? use that to clean off a smudge of nose grease [let's be honest] & it's toast: you will now be spreading nose grease across the lenses for a dull coating across your vision.
if you don't like near a MUJI store: 1) i'm so sorry & 2) you can find these on amazon! MOMA MUJI Eyeglass Cleaning Tissues 5packs
PS. if you're heading to MUJI, i highly recommend you visit the new flagship store on 5th ave @ 41st street that features an aroma lab [choose your own essential oil blend], an embroidery station [customize almost anything], a stamp bar & local artist collaborations.
I couldn't have said it better than japanese artist yunoki samiro, who was chosen to produce an original design for the flagship store's opening announcement (below)
